GOT TEETH?
General dentistry refers to the range of treatments and services available to protect and maintain a good standard of oral health. At Willows Dental Surgery, we look after hundreds of patients from High Wycombe and the surrounding areas, with some patients coming from as far as Central London, Nottingham, Cambridge and the Isle of White. We even have a very loyal patient who visits us annually from California!
General Dentistry always begins with a dental check-up. These include:
- A thorough clinical examination
- Oral cancer screening
- X–rays for diagnosis
This is the start of your journey to achieving optimum dental health. We pride ourselves in providing excellent dental care to all our patients, that meet our own high standards and gives you the peace of mind that we are looking after you.
Not every check-up is the same. We aim to develop long term relationships with our patients in order to meet dental goals. We are committed to nurturing a patient-clinician rapport that gives you peace of mind.
FLOSS LIKE A BOSS!
A healthy mouth is important in maintaining a healthy and confident lifestyle. Gum disease, known as gingivitis, is a common problem and symptoms such as inflamed gums, bleeding, sensitivity and pain can all be signs of it.
If gum disease persists over a long period of time and progresses, it can eventually affect the supporting structure of the teeth which can result in pain, infection, wobbly teeth and eventually, tooth loss. This is known as periodontitis, a more severe form of gum disease.
IT IS THE LEADING CAUSE OF TOOTH LOSS, WHICH IS WHY WE TAKE AN
ACTIVE PREVENTATIVE APPROACH TO GUM DISEASE, AS IT IS TREATABLE.
Our focus is on prevention. Our hygienist will discuss your oral hygiene regime with you and formulate a plan to help you improve and maintain your dental health and wellness.
OUR HYGIENE APPOINTMENTS USUALLY LAST APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES AND INCLUDE:
- Ultrasonic cleaning
- Fresh breath treatment
- Prevention and Treatment of gum disease
- Treatment of sensitive teeth
- Fluoride treatment
- Maintenance of orthodontic straightening treatment.
A healthy smile begins with a child.
As parents, we want to do everything that we can to ensure that our children are as healthy as possible, in every way. Children who visit the dentist regularly, from a young age, are less likely to become anxious if they can build a rapport with their dentist. Good oral hygiene regimes and a healthy diet can be instilled from an early age, abnormalities can be detected early on and fluoride treatment as well as fissure sealants can be provided, to maintain decay free teeth.
We have a huge amount of experience in providing dental care for children and have a wide range of services that we can offer to your child.
For those feeling nervous about a trip to the dentist, we focus on ensuring the process is explained clearly to help you and your child feel better prepared for what’s to come
Little ones might struggle to sit still in the chair, but our focus is to ensure that they enjoy their time at the dentist and it doesn’t become something that they dread. That’s why we provide plenty of praise and stickers to encourage their cooperation.
